The acronym SHINE stands for “Securing Hope for those In Need.” This race recognises that there are many underprivileged children across Trinidad and Tobago who lack adequate financial support to maintain a minimum standard quality of life. As a corporate citizen that consistently demonstrates commitment to the wellbeing of people, Guardian Group firmly believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to have a minimum standard quality of life which allows them to develop to their full potential.

SHINE is focused on assisting children’s charities across Trinidad and Tobago, with 100% of the proceeds of the race being donated. Since its inception we have donated over $3,270,000 to these children's charities. In addition to the charity element of the race, Guardian Group is also a big promoter of health and wellness both publicly and internally. Therefore, it is no surprise, that our race also embodies a live active/ healthy motif.​
